About HLC
HLC is Australia’s first Head Lice Clinic that was founded by two sisters in September 2006.
The Clinic travels to schools throughout Australia in a mobile unit…somewhat like the school dental van.
HLC spend approximately 2-3 weeks in each school (depending on the number of students in your school) and during our stay we provide a proactive, reactive and supportive program for managing head lice in the school community via the following:
HLC also treat others that may not be attending the school that they are located in.
Educational Presentations
These presentations really focus on the stigma associated with head lice as well as the life cycle and what we can do to avoid catching head lice.
Head Checks
After each presentation the class will then go to the Head Lice Clinic to have a head check. For the sake of the students this process is completely confidential. When the checks are complete then a note will go home to the parents as well as a follow up phone call to provide advice.
Onsite Treatments
The Head Lice Clinic is a relocatable unit that is located within the school. This clinic will provide treatments for students upon request by their parents. The treatments are provided at a heavily discounted fee while HLC is located at your school.
This program will benefit your school community by helping to manage and control head lice in turn preventing epidemic proportions.
Workshops
HLC experienced staff hold workshops for parents or guardians. At these workshops we cover issues such as
